On 14 March, Equalbase and VW held the groundbreaking ceremony of the new Volkswagen Regional PDC in the Port of Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia. The PDC is situated on 74,000 sq m of land and will have a total of 106,000 sq m of state-of-the art logistics capacity expanding over 2 floors. The warehouse will house more than 60,000 line items. Equalbase’s Henning Schierholz emceed the event proceedings while Equalbase's excitement for the large scale project was voiced by Equalbase’s Michael Rutsch. Michael’s speech also expressed thanks to all partners and supporters of the project. When completed in the third quarter of 2017, the VW Distribution centre will be the largest warehouse in Malaysia and a veritable landmark in the Iskandar region. By the end of 2018, Volkswagen, the world’s number 1 car maker will have taken up residence in the most impressive building in PTP.
